In the Music Club, every other mix is "themed." So far, this has been pretty straight forward. There was a hip-hop mix, a rock en espanol mix, a roots reggae mix, a western swing mix, and so and so forth. Every once in a while I'd mix it up and throw out a themed mix like Dusty Fingers, which was a collection of tracks culled from a stack of 45s that I'd just picked up at a fleamarket, although, when you get right down to it, it ended up simply being an early 70s soul mix. Regardless, Club Member K-tothemuthafuckin-H recently came up with a great idea for a themed mix: Guilty Pleasures. Y'know, those songs that you love every time you hear them, but yet, are embarrassed to admit you actually like. From the liner-notes to last month's mix:
For example, I could select from Phoebe Snow’s “Nine Of Diamonds”, Looking Glass’ “Brandy, You’re A Fine Girl”, or The Eagles' “Takin’ It Easy.” And, if we were close enough for true intimacy, then I might whisper in your ear, late one night, that I think Avril Lavigne’s “Girlfriend” is mighty catchy. Sad, I know. For the record, I don’t consider Jim Croce a guilty pleasure. So, all three of you LATENT readers, let me know what your (musical) guilty pleasures are.

Please no Eagles. I get enough of them and Skynard down her during "Rocktober".

Mr. Roboto rocks the house.
You aren't really going to put any of these songs on your mix, are you? This is just to get us to fess up so you can have a good chuckle. I've got your number.
