So, yeah, that was me hassling Directv because I couldn't find their proposed Olympic Soccer channel, and yeah, that was me up at 7:00 am on Saturday the 9th of August watching the Women's 10meter Olympic Air Rifle competition. And, as much as it pains me to admit it, yes yes yes, that was me screaming at the top of my lungs "SUCK IT FROGS!" when the US Men's 100x4 Freestyle Relay team came back to out-touch the French for the gold, after said European's had mouthed-off about coming to Beijing to smash the US.
Lord I don't know where it comes from. Don't get me wrong, I love my country, but I am probably the least jingoistic person (who doesn't actually wish to be something other than American) that I know--except when the Olympics are on, and then I turn into Archie Bunker. Well, I guess it's just yet another peccadillo of mine for all the ladies to fawn over in my Teen Beat spread coming out next week.
Speaking of Teen Beat spreads, man, that Ryan Lochte is a stunner. I'm talking straight-up gorgeousness. Phelps may be the World's Greatest Swimmer, but he's a goofy looking fool. Mr. Lochte is extremely talented and sizzling. Easily our best looking athlete in Beijing. Special shout-out to Misty May-Treanor's delicious backside. While gearing up for this post, I tried to find a current shot, but have so far come up empty handed. Ah well, instead, I'll post a link to the following blog.
And, finally, let me give all praise to my personal lord and savior; TIVO. Or, rather, DVR. It's allowed me to tape OVER 24 hours of Olympic coverage every day, which means I get to watch badminton and ping pong and archery and fencing. We've been skipping most of the baseball/softball and all of the boxing, so we've been able to get through a lot. Track and Field started last night, so we're in the home stretch.
U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!
