Why I am still using aol? Because it came free with my computer, has remained free for five years now, and because I'm too lazy (and cheap) to switch? Okay, yes, that's true. Because I'm greeted each day upon logging on with "Welcome! You've got mail!" Yeah, I do kind of like that ... I'll sheepishly admit it. The voice of aol always speaks to me even when no one else seems to want to. But, also, because I am privy to special bonuses provided by aol to its loyal subscribers ... like This Day in History and The Word of the Day. Instant education each time I log on. For instance, today's word of the day is one I may never have come across in my normal routine but one that I feel truly blessed to have discovered:
trichotillomania
trichotillomania • \trick-uh-till-uh-MAY-nee-uh\ • noun: an abnormal desire to pull out one's hair
Example sentence: Connie's trichotillomania left her with an unfortunate array of bald spots along the crown of her head.
