No Slack

For the consummate slacker. But, yes, it is time to start the show. This is the first post, and we should take time to make clear what it is, exactly, that LATENT is all about:

Nothing. Or maybe everything. LATENT will be a community of authors who will post about anything they like, without censor from its founder (or anyone else for that matter), unless, of course, one of our authors melts down, in which case our hippy freedom act may have to be revoked. LATENT is a community of fairly smart people with (hopefully) interesting takes on a variety of subjects. For example, one of our contributors will post nothing but photographs, and I'm looking to concentrate on podcasting (should I ever figure it out completely.) For those of you joining us from unframed, have no fear; as someone who is in love with the sound of his own (written) voice, I'll be posting other stuff as well.

We'll tell you what LATENT is not, hopefully: Navel-gazing. Unless providing a life-lesson, or humorous anecdote, LATENT should not be the place for personal life stuff, in as much as the blogosphere has enough of that crap already.

Either way, we're hoping that LATENT serves as a place for you gentle readers to take in some interesting opinions and sights. Like our slogan says, we may be unfocused and unfashionable, but you can be damned sure that we'll be unforgiving in expressing our opinions, and that together, the crew here at LATENT will comprise a veritable ocean of untapped potential.
